The “Heroes of the Belgrade Marathon” Foundation Donated Racing Wheelchairs and Announced an Inclusive 39th Belgrade Marathon

The “Heroes of the Belgrade Marathon” Foundation presented a donation of five specialised racing wheelchairs for persons with disabilities, which were handed over to the Sports Association of Persons with Disabilities of Belgrade.
On this occasion, a press conference titled “The Start Is the Same for Everyone” was held, at which the 39th Belgrade Marathon, scheduled to take place on April 18 and 19 in Belgrade.

The donation was made with the support of the company Playrix, and it involves the Hippocampe Wheelchair Marathon model, produced by the French company Hippocampe, known for its innovative solutions in the field of inclusive sports equipment.
These wheelchairs are designed for half-marathon and marathon courses and enable persons with disabilities to participate in the race safely and on equal terms.

With this step, the Belgrade Marathon is receiving specialized racing wheelchairs for persons with disabilities for the first time in its history, further improving inclusion and the accessibility of sport.

At the press conference, Darko Habuš, Director of the Belgrade Marathon and Manager of the “Heroes of the Belgrade Marathon” Foundation, Nemanja Radović, Secretary General of the Sports Association of Persons with Disabilities of Belgrade, and Ivan Vitorović, General Manager of Mona Hotel Management, addressed the audience.
The event was held at the Mona Plaza Hotel, a long-standing partner of the Belgrade Marathon.

Through its projects, the “Heroes of the Belgrade Marathon” Foundation continues to promote inclusion, solidarity, and equal opportunities in sport, with the goal of making the marathon a space where everyone can push their own limits.
