Registration Opens for the Historic 40th Belgrade Marathon and the European Running Championships

Registration Opens for the Historic 40th Powerade Belgrade Marathon, to Be Held 17. Registration for the 40th Powerade Belgrade Marathon, which will take place on April 17 and 18, 2027, is now officially open. This jubilee edition of Serbia’s largest sporting event will be etched into the history of European sport, as Belgrade will simultaneously host the second edition of the European Running Championships.

What makes this event truly unique is the fact that recreational runners from Serbia, across Europe, and around the world will have the opportunity to run on the same course, during the same weekend, and in the same atmosphere as Europe’s top athletes, who will be competing for medals and European championship titles in the 10K, half marathon, and marathon events.

That weekend, Belgrade will become the European capital of running, with more than 25,000 participants expected to take part in this historic event and help write a new chapter in the sport’s history. Registration is now open and available via the official website: erch2027.com.

“The 10K, half marathon, and marathon races are no longer part of the programme of the European Athletics Championships and are instead awarded to organizers of road running events. The inaugural European Running Championships under this format was held last year in Leuven, Belgium. The second edition of the championships in these disciplines will take place in Belgrade, which is a testament to the reputation and respect that the Belgrade Marathon enjoys within European Athletics and the global athletics community,” Habuš emphasized.

He emphasized that preparations for this major sporting event in the Serbian capital have been underway for quite some time:

“There is no doubt that this event will bring an entirely new dimension to the Belgrade Marathon in the years to come. That is why we will do everything in our power to make the most of the trust that European Athletics has placed in us and achieve a major step forward in every respect, positioning the Belgrade Marathon among the most prestigious and largest marathon races not only in the region, but across Europe as well,” Habuš concluded.
