“Beogradska desetka” closes streets in New Belgrade

Belgrade will once again host a major international running event on Saturday, September 7th. Organized by the Belgrade Marathon, and under the sponsorship of the City of Belgrade and renowned sports equipment manufacturer Nike, the street race ’10K Belgrade’ will take place.

For the second year in a row, the popular ‘Beogradska brza desetka’ will gather over 4,000 runners from the country and the region, as well as elite competitors from Kenya, Ethiopia, Morocco, Spain, and more. This 10km race, which will also serve as the National Championship for this distance in collaboration with the Serbian Athletics Federation, will require the closure of certain streets in New Belgrade and changes to the routes of some public transportation lines. The race is scheduled to start at 6 p.m., and Bulevar Nikole Tesle, in the direction of Zemun, will be closed to traffic from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., while Ušće and Trešnjinog cveta streets will be closed from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

It is important to highlight that the course in New Belgrade, where the race will take place, is certified by World Athletics. All results will be recognized by this organization and will be scored in the official calendar of world street races, which is yet another proof of the quality and high standards set by the Belgrade Marathon.

Additionally, the race will have a humanitarian aspect. Anyone who wishes to participate can send an SMS with the word ‘heroji’ to 3023 to donate funds intended to help people with disabilities. Those who send five messages will also enter a prize draw, and besides showing their generosity, they will have a chance to win a pair of sneakers as a gift.
