Thursday, 06. March 2025
There are only 30 days left until the 38th edition of the Comtrade Belgrade Marathon. The largest sporting event in the region is set for April 6, and according to the organizers, the number of registered participants has already surpassed previous years.
“At this moment, we have over 11,700 registered runners, including 2,367 foreign participants. We are not chasing numbers but rather focusing on improving quality in all aspects. However, the numbers are the first indicator that the running community highly values our organization and appreciates it more each year,” says Darko Habuš, director of the Belgrade Marathon.

This highly significant sporting event for the City of Belgrade and the Republic of Serbia will feature races of 42, 21, and 10 kilometers, as well as a fun run. A record number of elite runners is expected on April 6. As in previous years, the races will start at staggered intervals to ease congestion at the starting line and refreshment stations.
For the third consecutive year, the Running Expo of the Belgrade Marathon will be part of the 38th Comtrade Belgrade Marathon’s accompanying program. Hall 2A of the Belgrade Fair will serve as a gathering place for sports, fitness, and recreation enthusiasts, offering a variety of exhibitors and an educational-entertainment program. Additionally, competitors will be able to collect their race packets at the same location.

What the organizers are especially proud of is the humanitarian aspect of the Belgrade Marathon, carried out through the Heroes of the Belgrade Marathon Foundation.
From March 1st to April 1st, registrations are open for runners of the 38th Comtrade Belgrade Marathon, half marathon, and 10-kilometer race who wish to dedicate their kilometers to the humanitarian campaign SMS for a Kilometer. Each kilometer completed is later converted into a donation by sending the message HEROJI to 3023.
„Organizing a marathon is a very complex task that requires coordination of many services and integration of various sectors. I am fully dedicated to every part of the work, but the work of our foundation is certainly the most dear to me, as it is an invaluable feeling to change lives for the better for our heroes on and off the track. “, says Director Habuš.”
As part of the accompanying program, the Belgrade Marathon Sports Forum will take place, where distinguished guests from both the country and abroad, from the fields of sports, medicine, and management, are expected.
Citizens will also have the opportunity to enjoy themselves at Republic Square, where a sports village is planned with the presence of sponsors and partners, along with various performances by musicians, a DJ station, and numerous activations.
