“Belgrade Fast Ten” on September 7th at Ušće

“Belgrade Fast Ten,” a 10-kilometer street race organized by the Belgrade Marathon, will take place on September 7th. For the second consecutive year, with the support of NIKE, the start and finish of the “10K Belgrade” race will be on Nikola Tesla Boulevard, near Friendship Park at Ušće, marking the official start of the second part of the Belgrade Marathon running season.

“This year’s race, given the flat, fast course, as well as the exceptional quality of elite runners – aims to be highly positioned on the European and world scene of the fastest street races. It will be an ideal opportunity for our fastest runners to achieve their best results at the Serbian 10 km Championship, which we are organizing in collaboration with the Serbian Athletics Federation, and to be a worthy rival to the best international competitors. Although it will be a significant challenge, our intention is for Belgrade and the Belgrade Marathon to be recognized as organizers of both the largest and the fastest races in the region and beyond,” said Marko Marinković, coordinator of the elite race.

Last year, the “Belgrade Ten” garnered significant interest, with over three thousand runners at the start.

“We have expanded the running movement in Serbia, taking the lead in organizing street races in the region, and we are very proud that alongside all this, the races organized by the Belgrade Marathon are increasingly gaining in competitive quality, thanks to the participation of a growing number of top elite competitors. This is proof that we are recognized as excellent organizers in the global running community, so I can confidently say that the Belgrade Marathon is growing and developing in a positive direction. Proof of this is the records we break year after year in the number of participants at all our events, as well as the fact that we are candidates to host and organize the European Street Running Championship in 2027,” said Darko Habuš, director of the Belgrade Marathon, and added:

“By holding the Belgrade Ten, our capital has joined the ranks of European and world metropolises, which already have a long tradition of holding 10-kilometer street races. The course in New Belgrade, on which the race will be held, is certified by World Athletics, all results will be recognized by World Athletics and will be scored in the official calendar of world street races, which is another proof of our quality,” concluded Habuš. Registrations for participation in the race are ongoing, available on the Belgrade Marathon website, and the number of participants is limited. It is interesting to note that children from the age of 12 can also participate in this race with parental consent.
